Booking and the Visit, Unhurried

With the preparation done, the appointment itself asks very little of you. You book a time, arrive unhurried with the car and papers, and let the examiner do the rest.

It begins with a booking: reserving a slot through the CSDD system means arriving on a day and at a station that suit you, with no queue and no uncertainty about being seen.

On arrival you present the car and your documents, and an examiner works through a set sequence of checks: brakes, lights, steering, emissions and the structural essentials.

If everything is in order you leave with a fresh stamp; if something needs attention you receive a precise list, and putting it right is rarely as daunting as it first sounds.
